Quick-Candied Kumquats

A simple method to transform your usual citrus snack.

Directions

  1. Thinly slice the kumquats. Pick out and discard the larger seeds. In a small saucepan, over medium-high heat, bring the honey and water to a simmer and add the sliced kumquats. (You can add honey and water as needed to reach the quantity of kumquat syrup you want.) Simmer until the kumquats are just translucent, about 10 to 12 minutes, and remove from heat. Allow to cool before storing in a glass jar, covered with the syrup. The kumquats will keep for up to a month refrigerated.
